    tc sights?

Any of the Lyman or Williams apertures will fit. I believe it is a 7/32 x 40 thread. Merit makes one that is adjustable from .022-.155

    tc sights?

If you unscrew the aperture from the T/C hunter peep, you have a ghost ring. You can also use differant size apertures.

    Need some help

I'm not comfortable hunting deer with a .45, pick up a .440 ball then pick up a .530 ball. BIG differance. I use a .54 or a .62 for deer.

How do you make a flint flat on top?

I remember reading a couple of posts about using a dremmel tool to grind the bump off the top of flints so they are flat. I don't remember what type of bit was used. I just spent $9.00 on a tungsten bit that doesn't do anything. If you remember, please tell me. I don't want to buy more bits I...

I have a Cabellas hawkin and put the T/C peep on years ago. You gotta drill 1 hole in the tang, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

How many shots until you clean the barrel?

I am also of the smaller ball school, .433 in my 45 and .527 in my 54. less fouling, easier to load. I use .610 in my 62 cal, but it is coned. I clean after shooting, once and a while I may need to run a wet patch down while at the range, it depends on the humidity I think.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania .45

The breech is not the problem, I have the same gun and after modifying the touchhole, it fires every time, as fast as a caplock. No sense doing unneccesary work.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania .45

Do NOT remove the breech plug, The problem is the length of the touchhole liner, it sticks into the bore blocking the chamber by about 4or5 threads, It needs to be shortened, and while it is out open it up and cone the front and rear.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania .45

I have had one for 15 yrs. It is an accurate, reliable rifle, after a little lock tuning and touch hole work. Dixie Gun Works still has them in thier catolouge, They go for $920.00.I don't think they are worth that much now. I paid just over $500.00 I use a .433 ball .010 patch ,over 70 gr. 2f Goex.

how do you tell the age or date?

Does it have a rubber butpad and a real short barrel? If so, it probably has a fast twist barrel. I can't help with the age, They look the same from the mid 80's until present.

    Frizzen Wear

I've got an L&R on a fullstock Lehman that I bought used. It was made in the 80's It has the origianal frizzen and the last time I shot it I went 36 shots without knapping, All I do is wipe the fouling off and pick the hole after its loaded to feel the powder. The L&R is a good lock.

    What's the attraction

You cast your own balls, You load your charge, You set the flint, prime the pan, and it goes bang. Personal satisfaction.

    Hapers Ferry 1845 What Load?

I shoot a 62 cal. Lehman flint, 100 grains will blow thru most anything in North America with a .600 ball, You are never going to get it to shoot flat, so back off the powder and go for accuracy. My hunting load for whitetails is 80 gr. 2f and a .610 ball. not unpleasant to shoot. I plink with...
