What is your preferred brand of #11 percussion caps

Recently found some CCI #11 ...to my disappointment found they were the same size as the CCI #10 that I had. So they were too small for the Job. Maybe a mixup??? Nipple size? small #11 ????? who knows.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

OOOPS, Not as happy as I thought. The #11 CCI caps I finally found Sunday aren't any larger than their CCI #10s. Neither fit the nipple on the Phillips Now I guess I'll have to size the nipple and do some research on what will fit it as far as cap manufacturers. OH Well here we go again ......

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Took my wife out for a Lobster Roll her favorite ( Philly Steak for me). She wanted to make a couple of stops on the way out which was fine with me. Pay back was that I got to stop at one of the "Good ole Boy's" outback gun shops on the way. I needed some #11 caps and some real Black powder...

    Ball size

Thank you Grenadier for your replay. The rifle in question is a heavy bench rest target style built by E. Phillips (1840-1884). If the .375 ball doesn't perform well ... I will be looking to have a custom ball mold made, Your suggestion of Tanner molds will be a help since I am not familiar...

    Ball size

I have a rifle that is of a 38 Caliber and I am finding it difficult to locate .370 balls to fit. So, I ordered the .375 pistol balls and plan to shoot using a .010 patch. Rifle is new to me and due to recent hand surgery and that I just now received everything to take it to the range...

    E. Phillips gunmaker N.Y

New to board. Looking to find out more about E. Phillips who was a gunmaker in the mid 1800s. Only thing found out so far is that he was noted for making heavy barreled target rifles with telescopes. Any more detailed information or reference materials would be appreciated. ZEE
