    Sightng in a smoothbore

Thanks for explaining in more detail guys, I get what you are talking about and will make up some suitable type "bench" arrangement to shoot from. I was just worried about getting down too much on the gun and that would not be how I shoot it off hand. Makes sense to raise the whole set up ---...

    Sightng in a smoothbore

Thanks guys for the replies. Guess there just isn't a real practical way to "sight in" other than good old fashioned repetition and lots of practice. Good reasons/excuses to get to the range.

    Sightng in a smoothbore

Just wondering how you veteran SB shooters sight in your gun. I have only done this offhand, which is obviously not perfect. However, I could never figure out how to "bench" it because of the way I have to hold the gun offhand is different than when I get down on the gun at a bench. Anyone...

    GPR photos

Does anyone remember the username of a gentleman that posted a number of photos of a very nicely done Lyman GPR? I have tried doing a search to no avail. I believe it may have been back around 2008 or so. If I can find out his screen name I may have better luck fining the photos. Thanks

    handmade front sight

After reading some posts I am thinking of making a new front sight using a coin (quarter) for the blade. Just wondering what it might look like after filing down for elevation, etc. Does anyone have any photos they could possibly post showing a sight made from a coin? Appreciate any pics or...

    handgonne tiller

Just received my first handgonne barrel and getting the tiller set to go. How do you guys fasten your tiller to the gun? Do you prefer just a real snug wood to metal fit or do you fasten with wood screws, bolt, etc. Anyone pin it similar to pinning a ramrod tip to the ramrod?? Appreciate any...

    Suggested starting load

Expecting my first handgonne in a couple weeks. It is a .50 cal. Anyone shooting a .50 have a good starting load to begin with? Never shot one before and wasn't sure how the loads would compare to a rifle. Appreciate any suggestions.
