    Flash guard install question

I have a Jim Chambers Colonial Virginia lock and wondered about installing a brass flash guard that I was given some time ago. I am not familiar with flash guards and wondered if I simply remove the exterior frizzen screw, put the guard over the hole and reinsert the screw? Or do I need to get...

    Barrel rust

I have a barrel that has very light surface rust on a few spots on the outside of the barrel. There is no pitting and the bore itself is fine. The barrels finish is an aged "natural" patina ---looks like a dull silver/gray. My question is what to use to remove the surface rust without doing...

    1/2" Fiber Wad loading?

I use Circle Fly wads and wondered the same thing when I began using them. I called the company and was told that it does not matter which side of the wad goes up. It is black on one side only because that is how the material they use for wads comes thru to them. He said load any side up that...

    Bending smoothie barrel

Roy, If you don't mind my asking... what part of the barrel do you clamp in the vise. Is it near the breech end or more toward the center of the barrel, and then push/pull the muzzle in the needed direction? Thanks

CenterMark of Upper New York Out of Biz

If it is still run by the same fellow (Paul), he may be a bit hard to contact. The last I spoke with him was a while back but he told me the best time to call was anytime on weekends, or weekdays after 3:30 PM. He said he was usually in the shop until 6:00 or so. At that time he had another...

Ha , That's what I've been thinking! Guess I did it once, now do it again. Imagine barrel won't be too bad to fix. Oh well, goes with the learning curve I guess. :idunno:
