    Leonard Day locks

I like the look of Leonard Day's guns but have never handled one. His ad says he uses his own locks. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the locks he uses and how they perform? Mainly interested in his Boulton fowler and Dutch guns. Appreciate any info.

    starting loads for 28 gauge

I will be getting my first smoothbore in a couple months (28 gauge with 42" barrel)and hoping to get some ideas/suggestions on a roundball as well as a shot load. Mostly be shooting steel gongs with a few clay birds from time to time. Haven't had a smoothie before so not sure what size...

    "liquid" bore butter

Does TC make a liquid version of bore butter that can be sprayed, similar to what Lehigh Valley lube is like? Thought I saw it advertised somewhere a ways back but can't find it anywhere online.

    Setting rear sight

Forgot to say it is an open primitive style iron sight. Drifted it a little to where I wanted it. Thought about using a puch to anchor it but wasn't sure. Thanks

    Setting rear sight

I have a rifle that I sighted in and was wondering if anyone "permanently" sets their rear sights, so that it will not move if accidentally knocked. It seems tight enough now but I didn't know if there is a good method of making it even more resistant to any shifting. Appreciate any ideas.

Source of longrifle range rods and cleaning rods

Jack Garner makes 42" ramrods with muzzle guide and jag included at a very good price. He makes them in stainless steel, wood, or a flex rod (delrin, I think). His site is www.tennesseevalleymanufacturing.com

Thanks to everyone for their input. I do use anti-seize on the threads ---- definitely a great idea.

    Final days cleaning

Just got a percussion rifle with a large Siler lock. How do most of you do your final clean up after a days shooting as far as the clean out screw goes. This is a full stock rifle that is pinned so I don't remove the barrel. Do you always remove the screw while cleaning? Same goes for the...

    Ream a .54 cal

Would it be possible to have a Lyman GPR or Trade rifle in .54 caliber reamed to a smoothbore? Wasn't sure if barrel would still be thick enough. Figured it may be a way to get my feet wet while saving for a semi-custom smoothie.

    Roundball in musket?

Thanks Zonie and Kirm. Was hoping for an answer like that. Also thanks for the load suggestions. Be nice to be able to use it for more than one type of shooting.

    Roundball in musket?

Not sure if this is the right forum or not but was wondering if an Enfield (repro like Armisport)rifled musket could also shoot a roundball accurately. Was hoping to get one and cast minies, but would also like to use it occassionally as a percussion rifle at local matches where roundball is...

Thank you all. Will get the punch out today.

    Loose rear sight

Putting together a Lyman GPR kit (before trying something a little more ambitious)and the rear sight dovetail (factory cut) came thru too big for the sight. It goes in but is a sloppy fit. What would be the best way to secure the sight from moving around so easily? It does not slide completely...
