So is this for adjusting the rear sight or the front 😀

I have a .720 bore double barrel Coach 12Ga. I’d like to try to shoot round balls with a card or wad over it. After a few shots it seems more constricted. Any suggestions on a ball size that will work after some shooting?

Yes … the gun is stock … I’ve never raised it to shoot . I leave it down for 50 yards ..I’ll try it up next time at 50 & 100 but I figured it would be worse given that the top of the ladder is for longer ranges according to the markings .

I think the last time I was at 50 yards , I put one 12” Target above another. I’d aim at the lower bullseye to shoot at the upper one. I think that worked. I’ll bring a tape measure next time & do 50 & 100 checks. I like the look of the vernier tang sight but the practicality for my purposes is...

So would a 68 caliber nylon copper roundball like a grimburg screw up the barrel in a .720 bore shotgun?

You will have to search on those names with Sharps . They do something with the block and chamber sleeve …fix them in place or something … I don’t really know how it works only that the fouling doesn’t limit your shooting like the stock gun.

Someone was telling me about a chart like that the last time I was at the range. He’s the only other black powder shooter I’ve run into there .. at least who brings their bp guns to the range ….I’ll see if he has it.

Putting in the taller front sight as you suggest is what the guy in the video did …he just used the ladder sight after that . I was just curious if adding a sight to the tang would work without fooling with the front.

that is the type I was wondering about & if I could add one without having to change the front sight at this point and be able to sight targets at 50 & 100 yards & clean the gun without a lot of trouble. I know I can add many Pedersoli sights to the tang but I didn’t know how usable they are...

I’d say the bullet hits at least a foot or so high from where I aim at 50 yards. If I have not shot the gun for a while I have to try to remember and then shoot a bit to get it figured out again . I actually need to bring a tape measure with me next time and try both 50 & 100 yard targets and...

BTW .. It looks like the pin in the front sight could come out and the disk could be changed for a taller piece.

BTW, does your tang sight allow you to run a patch Down the barrel without removing it . If you do remove it for cleaning or whatever do you have to readjust things again when you put it back on or do you just screw it back on the tang ?

Ok … how difficult was it to change the front sight from stock to the Pedersoli tunnel sight ? That was what I was hoping to have the option of doing at a future time.

Pedersoli puts in screws for adding their tang sight so it’s simple to add one. I was hoping to add that and leave the front sight alone at this time. I was curious if anyone had done this and if the tang sight could be sighted in at 50 yards but still be adjusted for longer range shooting...
