    TC Tang Sight

It is interesting that the barrel marked Renegade as early models were not. The thing about T/C guns, it's not uncommon to find guns with parts mixed from different era models. Kind of like my 46XX Renegade which would seem to be an early model based on it's serial number but with no third hole...

    TC Tang Sight

If it says Renegade it's a Renegade, like I said it's a photo. Sounds like others know early Renegade models were drilled. I couldn't remember my early one, I traded it off over 40 years ago.

    TC Tang Sight

Looks factory to me. Are you sure it's a Renegade. Looks more like a 15/16" from the photo, but it's a photo so kind of hard to tell.

    Bullet moulds

In my case there's .319, .353, .400, .500, .562 and .648 that are not generally available. There's probably a place I could buy cast round ball of these sizes but with my own molds I can control the quality.

    TC Tang Sight

I'm trying to recall if my early Renegade's tang had three holes, I know early Hawken models did and they were for the Thompson Center tang sight. Maybe someone with an early Renegade will chime in. I have a Renegade in the 46XX range but the tang is not drilled for the T/C peep. However, I...

Sharon Rifle kit or Thompson Center

Investmentarms lock and stock, Thompson Center primative sight, I have one along with a blade front sight on my first T/C Hawken as I had a hard time keeping my adjustable sighted. Sharon aftermarket barrel, that's where the value is provided it's been maintained properly. By the way, after...

Cap & Ball Revolvers Technical Books

Thanks Mike I gifted a copy of this book to a gentleman I used to shoot with a couple days a week. His passion was Colt SAA guns. I never bothered to look at it. When he passed a couple years ago, a victim of COVID-19. I got the book back but haven't opened it, I will now. All I need to do is...

Cap & Ball Revolvers Technical Books

Any recommendations on books that go beyond selection, loading and care of cap & ball revolvers? Something that addresses repair and tuning type information.

Did uberti ever make a small frame 1858 navy?

Both Uberti guns. Top revolver is a .36 and bottom a .44. Frame and grip sizes appear to be the same size. I bought the .36 about 25 years ago used, the .44, also used, roughly 15 years ago.

Why is it the least expensive ML rifles I own………………

You stole my thunder. I have two, a 1:48 and a 1:66. I've not shot the 1:48 much. The 1:66 had never been sighted in as best I could tell. I've got the front sight filed down to hit just about the elevation I want, still a hair low. It's a remarkable shooter, right in there with yours using very...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I've been down with some type of respiratory crud the past week. All I've been thinking about is getting to the range. It looks like there might be a break in the weather for a few hours tomorrow. I guess they call what we're experiencing an atmospheric river. Anyway, in hopes that I'll be well...

Some Eye Candy : Cimarron 1860 "McCulloch Colt" Anyone Else?

Thanks, I've got a Pietta. If I happen across a squareback I might bite. I spent a couple hours this morning going over my cap & ball revolvers, wiping them down with Barricade and I think I have enough to last me, even if I live to be 150 years old. 😃

Some Eye Candy : Cimarron 1860 "McCulloch Colt" Anyone Else?

You're no going to believe this. However my wife did, she knows my gun buying habits. I checked out the Midwayusa Uberti 1860 fluted that's on sale and thought, "why not". Then I got to thinking I might have bought one at Gunbroker a few years ago, better check first. Sure enough I had one...

Some Eye Candy : Cimarron 1860 "McCulloch Colt" Anyone Else?

I agree on the fluted cylinder 1860. I had one imported by Western Arms I wish I still owned along with a Squareback 1851, also Western Arms. Both by Uberti. Big mistake trading them off. 😢 I have to admit, the eye candy shown here is pretty nice. Thanks for sharing and the memories, as...
