    Fixing buttplate gap

I had some Scheels gift cards so I picked up a Traditions St Louis Hawken for cheap. Overall the inletting is better than I expected. Not great, not terrible. Towards the top and front of the buttplate there is a pretty good gap, though, on both sides of the stock. How would you guys...

Questions on finishing technique on Kibler lock

I used a very small file to smooth out the rough spots, followed by progressively finer grits of sandpaper up to 400, if I remember correctly. I finished it with a buffing wheel and polishing compound on my dremel. It’s not a shiny finish but it’s nice and smooth.

    Kibler Colonial Builders?

Mine did not do that. Maybe the inlet for the tang is sloped somewhat? I agree with the above posters, call Mr. Kibler, he’ll get you squared away.

Interesting…I didn’t realize they were that small. I only have the round faced lock.

    How old are ya?

    47. I bought my first pistol when I was 16, it was a brass frame Colt Navy. Man, my mom was mad. Sounds like a Steve Earle song but it’s true.

    Woods Walk Course Design

I’ve found for unmentionables that using conveyor belt to hang steel targets works very well. It’s extremely durable and bullets just pass through it without causing much damage. Fire hose and heavy duty woven tarp straps for semi trailers work well too.

She’s a beauty. The wood in Kibler’s kits is top notch.

    SOLD SPF18th century frock coat

I bought this on eBay from Fort Laramie Trading Post, but it’s a little on the small side so I ordered a new one a size bigger. It’s a size 46 which is what I normally wear, but it’s a little tight in the shoulders and maybe a half inch short on the sleeves. I’m 6’1” and 230lbs with long...

    The first 100 shots

I would switch back to the old lube and patches and see if your accuracy returns. If not, something else is wrong. Change one thing at a time when troubleshooting.
