Ever let one go That you Should have Kept? (p1853 Enfield)

Every time I think 'I should have kept ......' I think about the fact I don't have time to shoot what I still have. There's been one or two that I probably should have bought but didn't.

    Musket caps on Amazon.

'On a side note, I can shoot musket caps on my sidelock guns but does anyone make a nipple that allows shooting #11 caps on a musket?' I used to have one on a 2 band rifle, but I don't recall the brand. But they should be available.

Musket nipples fit on sporting type long guns?

I also use musket caps on several percussion sporting rifles, just get the correct thread size. Plus it's cheap enough to try out for the cost of a nipple.

    Swiss 38 cal. target rifle

38 caliber with 1-48 twist suggests its intended for round ball shooting not bullets. However if you wanted to try shooting bullets I'd start with getting a close measure of bore diameter using pin gauges, ordering several around .380...

TC Renegade 50 cal conical size??

.500, just at bore size, wiping between shots. 30-1 may be too hard to bump up to groove size when fired, 40-1 or softer may be better. The Greenhill formula suggests the 1-48 twist may require a lighter bullet than 400 grains. You might also check out the modern muzzleloader forum under...

    Lead pouring blues

I’ve used a dozen Lee molds over the years and haven’t seen anything like that. My best guess would be final step to clean burrs off spree hole not done or aluminum block alloy not up to specifications (my brother once had titanium delivered that didn’t meet contract specifications).

SOLD Springfield .45cal Percussion Numrich rebarreled

The cartouche on the wrist looks like 1884, so this would be a trapdoor rifle stock, which is what the Numrich barrel and hammer kit was made to fit. It allowed you to convert your trapdoor into a muzzleloader.

    Navy Arms mule ear rifle

I also think the Country Boy name was reused later on an inline rifle.

    Navy Arms mule ear rifle

No idea on the rear sight, but if I recall correctly those didn't have a half cock, the model was named The Country Boy.

    Allen 50 Caliber?

The short barrel suggests you have a buggy rifle, style wise it was surely made in the northeast. Billinghurst was another maker known for underhammer buggy rifles.
