WANTED Steel Patch Box needed for Monkey Gun

Hello All, I am working on a 28 Gage percussion shotgun. I was told it is called a Monkey gun? It is missing the patch box, and this may or may not be my fault, but that is another story. the hole in the stock is about 2 1/2 in long and 1 3/8 in wide. Please see the picture. I am OK with...

probably a dumb question re squirrel rifle

I dunno, I have a 28gage (.54 roundball) monkey gun. Least i was told that is what the gun was when I bought it from a good friend of mine. At he would not lie to me much. Any way I have been hunting them monkeys ever since. If I shot a rabbit with it do I have to change the name? Hope...

Flint or percussion? I don’t know where to post this.

Hey howdy! Welcome! On which you get, just remember your next gun is likely not your last one! I started with a low quality flinter and it was a bad experience. Went to percussion until I could afford a quality flinter. In any case the love of both gives me an excuse to round out the armory!

    Woods walks

Hey all, Our club here in Western Oregon shoots what we call a "Trail Walk" very often. most of our monthly club shoots are paper targets for score followed by a trail walk. When we are out on the trail we call it "shooting from the bag" vs shooting from the "bench". Our group is focused...

    Possibles bag patterns

I second your request! I would like to do some projects during the covid winter.... I do know that linen tread was commonly used. Linen thread is obtainable and not too outrageous. You can wax it to get it to slide through the leather easier. Now having said this - full disclaimer, I am not...

I used Jim Kiblers product on my long rifle and was very happy with the results. I did not use the bone black at I thought it would be too dark.
