I’m 6’3” and around 400 lbs. I ain’t afraid of nothing.

You’re 5’7”. The 54 will give you a pretty good kiss if you venture out beyond 70 grains of 3f. Enjoy the ride! I love the big bores.

That’s my rifle! It actually shoots pretty nice. 85 grains of 2f and a .740 ball. The recoil is akin to a modern 3” magnum shotgun load. Of course I’m a really big dude.

That’s actually a repair out there on the forestock. The stock had a bad place there very early in the construction. It’s a really nice touch and works well with the antiquing done on the rest of the rifle.
