    Flints life.

Oh fritz = frizzen....right:doh: I should have guessed. I'm not up on the modern slang. I'm just an ol' Boomer, I guess.

    Flints life.

    1. Avg. life of a flint? Who knows? All I can say is that it's usual for me to get 50-60 spark producing strikes from a flint. The asterisk here is that I employ the trick of turning the flint upside down when it begins to show signs of wear. 2. Flint Quality. Look for the flat topped flints...

What to do with pan primer?

I put it in my pocket, spout up. But then I use a horn with a wood stopper. You could stick it spout up in you hip pocket.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I had some time to set up for casting some .610 balls this afternoon. I must have cast about two and a half dozen. I used one of those Tanner bronze molds. I think it throws a pretty good ball.

    Bear leather

Blanket is a good idea. You could also use scraps to cover pommel holsters for your martial flintlock pistols, too.

    Lifespan of a Rifle?

Possible & realistic are two separate things, in my estimation. My remarks are purely personal, that is from my point of view, unencumbered by diligent research into the western fur trade. If I were portraying a western, or Rocky Mountain hunter, I'd be carrying a J. Henry Lancaster pattern...

Not that difficult: Fabric too thin Not enough lubrication

    Jute Tow

I've used Stumpy's Moose Milk, & I've used plain ol' water to moisten the tow I use as wads.

    Original notched breech plugs

Very interesting. I've often wondered if Joe Manton didn't do something similar to his double barrel shotguns.

You too, eh? Strange how that happens without you realizing it.

    Them Indian Haters!

I suspect your options are these: Build them yourself from Rifle Shoppe parts, or Have them built by a custom maker. There's a third possible option If Jim Kibler decides to make brown Bess copies, order one from him. Beyond that I just plain don't know. Sorry I'm not much help.

HOW TO MAKE A Corncob Pipe

I never did get on with meditation. But smoking a pipe serves as a good substitute, I believe.
