Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

Are you saying that static electricity from the vacuum could set it off? Walt

Cottage Grove, Oregon. I didn't know it was blank until I looked. Says it's a required field so I shouldn't have been able to create an account without it! Walt

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

It's not a ban as much as a temporary restriction. They will be allowed again when the weather is cooler and/or the rains come back. They say they've done this before but not while I've been a member. This will definitely make them rethink that carpet idea though! Walt

WANTED Renegade breech plug or trashed barrel to salvage one

Never heard of it. When I saw the original post and before I read further, the first thing that popped into my head was "Vent Hole". Interesting! Walt

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

You are correct! The carpet is easier to pick up fired brass from and was cheaper than concrete. One of the Board members suggested vacuuming the carpet until the rains come back. I was like, huh? It never occurred to me that unburnt Smokeless Powder would accumulate on the carpet creating a...

They never thought about it until now. They're still not blaming the carpet! I bet that wasn't cleared by the Fire Marshall when it was installed. Walt

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

Black Powder has been banned on our Club Range until further notice. A shooter on the Public Range started a fire with his 1860 Colt Replica Revolver. It was a Freak accident as indicated by his explanation. It wasn’t real grass but the Astroturf in front of the Firing Line. Maybe they should...

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

My 1990 CVA Catalog says $536.95 for a finished Flintlock Rifle. I have an older cap lock by Jukar. The local ML shop said it wasn't worth more than $450. $600 sounds fair but maybe a bit low. Especially on an older rare gun like yours. I sold one just like it about ten years ago for that...

    NJD (New Jukar Day)

Nice find. I'm guessing when you say "less than $1500", you mean cheaper than a custom gun. I always take used guns apart to clean and oil them well. These have RB barrels and are considered by many as tack drivers. Walt

    USPS Fiasco

I made one claim on a damaged Renegade within the past decade. I was afraid that if I requested the total value of the item, they would want to keep it. I obtained an estimate to repair the stock for $75 which they cut a check for. I did the work myself and relisted the gun for $75 less than...
