    William Briggs underhammer smoothbore

Yes indeed. It would not be pleasant otherwise. You'd be yelping out in the woods like Fred Flintstone. 🤣🤣

    William Briggs underhammer smoothbore

The lock contains three main parts. 1: mainspring/hammer 2: trigger/sear 3: Trigger/sear spring The other three are just harware. 2 screws and a square head "bolt" that holds the hammer/mainspring to the stock.

    Kibler SMR Carbine

I haven't seen one cut down, yet. I'm sure it will happen at some point. Where would you cut it relative to the swamped profile? I have, though, seen this half stock that someone created. I think it might be the longest half stock I have ever seen. A shortened SMR would be light as a feather...

    do you recognize this cannon?

It also could have been cast with curved spokes. Could have been a couple of flat belt pulleys, too

    Ramrod difference??

    Ramrod difference??

I was thinking about this very same subject a few days ago. Surely it has to make a difference in resonance, even if it is a small difference. I would think the snugger or looser the ramrod fit would be liable to change the resonance even more. I wish I had the time and the equipment to give...

FOR SALE Defarbed 1863 Zouave Rifle

That rifling profile looks like the one used by Euroarms. Barrel walls are very thick @ muzzle. Definitely a cut down.

Uberti 47 Walker Spare Cylinder Longer Than Original

Don't knock the belt sander for this job just yet. The secret is to unplug it before you start lol. It's just a few thousandths off the front of the cylinder. I have done this with a Remington 1858. When my spare cylinder arrived, it was just a hair too long to fit in the frame. I installed a...

    William Briggs underhammer smoothbore

That is Number 27. Gene Moss in Oklahoma owns it as of 10 Nov. I have Number 11 now. It has a 36” barrel with a .710 bore. same patchbox. It’s in much better condition than #27 is.

    What the heck, rust?

That rifle has a hooked breech, corrrect? Remove the nipple, pull the barrel and dunk the breech end in a bucket a wata. I do the pump-n-scrub with plain water. Change water and patches until everything stays clear and clean. Evacuate water, a couple more patches with @Mr. Flintlock 's bore...

    Texas

Some states, like here in Arkansas, have changed their rules. As of 2024: A Sharps using a centerfire metallic cartridge larger than .30 cal is now legal equipment to use during the early "Alternative Weapons" season. Formerly known as Muzzleloading season. RIP. I am not sure where a...

Has anyone heard from Justin lately? It seemed like he was doing quite a bit of business here and then suddenly went dark. Hope he is alright.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

Just one. A Gewehr 71. I hadn't thought of it, but those rcbs minies might shoot decent out of it.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

I like the deep cavity on your mold. Is yours the prototype, or are they now available from Old West?
