Did CVA start manufacturing with the button breech or the hooked breech? When did they switch from one to the other?

What are your thoughts on using it on my stock? I’m not quite sure what wood it is. Doesn’t work or smell like any walnut I’ve used before. It does have quite a bit of grain throughout the stock. The wood actually kinda resembles the beech wood on CVA stocks. I guess European walnut is really light?

I’ve been debating on trying the minwax gunstock color on an Investarm stock I’m working on.

That’s a beautiful set up just the way it is.

Not 20 minutes ago I looked for this pistol on Tracks website! I looked at it a week or so ago and haven’t been able to get it outa my mind. Glad someone here got it. It’s a nice piece. Please post how it shoots for you.

I have made several purchases from them in the past. They are good to deal with.

I tried 700x on a couple batches, but I now use just the duco, the compound stays put.

BP Albee could also use aquarium tube cut to fit over the nipples to help seal the caps in wet weather.

I got the entry pipe pinned and the nose cap mounted. I was able to do a little scraping, a little sanding here and there on the rifle.

I really need to learn how to solder better.

I believe they take a large rifle primer. Not a 209 shotgun primer.

Worked on the investarm hawken yesterday and today. Got the toe, entry pipe and nose cap inlet into place. Had to do a little Acraglas gel around the entry pipe at the transition. I’ve never done one before and made some mistakes, the next one will be better. I re shaped the forearm and worked...

A brand spanking new pistol showed up today! It’s a CVA Hawken, 50 cal. Looking forward to getting it dirty.

Yeah we love it here. We get all 4 seasons. We are surrounded by like minded good people in our area. Most of California is full of good conservative folks, it’s the coastal areas that control the state. Just like Oregon and Washington.

We have lost more than 200 trees in the last 3 winters. No more than 32” of snow at a time but very wet and heavy. It’s called Sierra Cement around here. These are Black Oaks. They just can’t handle the weight.
