I’d keep adding to the shim height on the trigger and the stock and see if it helps. My inlet on my CVA mountain rifle was crazy deep. It’s shimmed over an 1/8”. I actually used a wood screw because of the thickness. It made it very easy to adjust and get it right.

For pork shoulder or butt I put sea salt and black pepper on all sides rubbed in, then completely coat with yellow mustard. When it’s done there is no hint of mustard flavor, man is it good.

Have you tried the cci caps on anything else? If the caps finally pop after several strikes with your pistol, it might be a fit issue with that nipple.

Mesquite is the only smoking wood I have to buy, aside for the pellets for the other smoker.

Mesquite is definitely in my mix for smoking wood, I also use alder, oak, and manzanita. The manzanita works incredible on a whole spatchcock chicken, whole turkey also. I even use it on a bone in ham.

Oh heck yes on smoked artichoke, garlic cloves also. Once the garlic is soft and warm throw a clove or three on a saltine cracker.

321 ribs are ridiculously good on the smoker. We have a Rec Tec pellet smoker. We use it 3-4 nights a week. I also smoke a lot of cheese in the side box.
