    Muzzle Blasts Focus?

I agree. Those too tight to join can always support those other organizations focused on muzzleloading.....

Why does a load shoot two separate goups??

Vertical dispersion is usually a result of velocity or bore condition. Are you cleaning between shots? If so, try using more powder.

Pistol barrel from old rifle barrel.

The rifling twist on a rifle barrel is much slower than a pistol barrel. For an accurate load you will need a heavier powder charge than if you used a pistol barrel with a faster twist.

    I never met an underhammer...

Likely a two pronged leaf spring inside the action.

    Unmarked .36 percussion rifle

Wasn't needed. Different way of being back then. We do things differently now. But I will tell you on the range and at matches I have no need for a half cock notch. On the line I pull the hammer to full cock, prime or cap and fire. Hammer stays down on flintlock during cleaning and loading...

    Lester Cox slug gun advice

I looked for the Lester Cox notes and found my copy. This was given to me around 30 years ago by Rich Hicks, a friend and mentor who helped me learn the gentle art of shooting a slug rifle. This is an original copy of the notes with 11 pages plus one page from 1978 by Rich Hicks. 12 pages in...

Finding tooling will be a problem: likely needs to be made. You will need a mould and/or swage and a washer to hold down the patches while loading until you fit the starter. If the bullet mold is cut right you can get away without the swage to size them. You can cut patches with a paper cutter...

I shoot slug and picket rifles. Did you receive any tooling with your rifle and if so can you share particulars?

    Improving velocity consistency

    Yes, very important.

    Arrows?

We had a fellow in SE FL about 20 years ago who shot modern arrows out of a T/C Hawken: it shot well. He used aluminum shafts, field points and plastic fletching. A wad over the powder, then the arrow. He could keep them in the target at 50 yards, and usually hit it at 100 yards.

    Kibler Breach Plug

I have done this with small caliber flintlocks for years. Should never ever de-breech a barrel, IMHO.
