    Pistol value ???

I had an 1858 Remington also made in 1960 for and imported by Navy Arms and marked as such on the top of the barrel. Navy arms later moved to Ridgefield NJ. Your pistol was made by Gregorelli & Uberti. Uberti went out on his own in 1963.

Oh, Come On With the Inflated Caps!!

I was working at a Gulf station (70-72) while going to school. When Hi-Test No-Nox went from 39.9 to 40.9 cents folks were quite upset as the 40 cents per gallon barrier had been broken 😅 Today I paid $4.25 a gallon for 93 octane for my old sporty car which needs it.

    Pistol value ???

That Navy is an oldie with the "GU" marking, it was one of the first, made in 1960. Is the top of the barrel marked Navy Arms Bogota NJ by any chance? BTW you've got $30+ of caps there :thumb:

    Percussion cap tins

They can be frustrating alright, I put my CCI and Remington caps in antique cap tins I've collected that I know open easier and look cool to boot. RWS 1075 caps come in plastic containers that are easy to open, two tiny vent holes prevent pulling against a vacuum :thumb:

What is it that pulls us into muzzle loading!

Connection to the past, lack of government paperwork, ability to get your arms shipped to your door and just plain fun 😅

    tick treatment

I got the same shot and always wondered about the effectiveness. I tuck my pant legs in tall rubber boots and spray the boots with repellant when it's warm, Since I'm cold blooded I wear real lightweight long johns tucked into my socks 7-8 months out of the year, with T shirt tail tucked in the...

Oh, Come On With the Inflated Caps!!

The new shooter starting out and needing supplies I feel sorry for. Those who have been around the block know to stock up when you can. The handwriting is on the wall again for smokeless powder availability. Grit your teeth and stock up smokeless ammo and powder now or cry later. YMMV...

Storing black powder in a shed

Back Creek Gun Shop where I get my powder keeps it stored in an outdoor bunker in a field. You place your order and the guy drives out to the storage bunker and gets it. He supplies the NSSA so that's a lot of powder. I keep mine in a detached garage in a wooden box.
