Do you go to any gun shows? I've seen them there and in local gun shops recently. Last year I paid 18.95 per hundred, at a show in Frederick a couple of weeks ago I picked some up for $10.00 a hundred. YMMV

    Pryce and Redman Revolver.

Nice, I know nothing about it but it's a nice, I love cased sets.

ADDING SOLDER TO LEAD FOR ROUND BALL CASTING

As little as 1% tin will make the lead flow better and fill out the mould without affecting hardness that you would notice. I've added a foot or so of 50-50 roll solder to 10 pounds of lead in the pot to get better casting with some molds, both ball and conicals. Antimony is used to harden...

    Disaster

Dang 😢 A good gunsmith should make it as good as new. The tiny scar left will be a reminder to always hold her tight:thumb:

    Gun range

100 yard range cut in the woods, only 5 steps from the door to the bench. Steel targets, both fixed and swinging targets at 25,50,75 and 100. Pivoting to the side is a 25 yarder with 3 swinging targets. Bought this piece of mountain to build on 43 years ago so I could shoot when I wanted.

    Fess Parker Recalled d.2010

He's the reason I have my GG grandfather's powder horn. It hung in my Grandmother's dining room and she gave it to me because I idolized Davy Crockett. Davy, his buddy George and Big Mike Fink were larger than life figures who sure made big impressions on this little kid.

    Centaur Belgian revolver???

In my case it was the novelty of owning a headless Colt, . I bid one up to $600 in a moment of insanity a few years ago. After not winning that one I wound up buy a nicely used 2nd Gen 1851 Navy from a forum member for $100 less. Saw both a unfired 2nd Gen Army and a Navy for sale at the...

    New guy from WV

Welcome from across the river in Maryland. Deep family roots are in Hampshire, Hardy and Jefferson counties. Mom's family came to Maryland to work at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown during WW2, Dad's family (Jefferson County) bought a farm on this side of the river near Williamsport in the 1920's.

    Grandpa stories

My Mom's father he was born in 1901 in the mountains of Hampshire County WV and we called him "Pa". Best Grandfather a boy ever had, a bottomless well of patience and kindness to all but could freeze you in your tracks with just a glace. He fixed my toys, taught me to shoot, skin a squirrel and...

Casting Lead balls for the first time _ advice Needed...

As long as it's real tin and lead pewter and not modern repo stuff. Plain old lead/tin solder is also great way to add a bit of tin to your lead.

    Confederate Revolvers

I only have one Rebel revolver, a Griswold and Gunnison made by High Standard . One GG grandfather's family didn't own slaves because of religious reasons, so I guess he enlisted just because he didn't like Yankees :thumb:

    Auction pickups

It looks so well preserved that I think it's a repo. Most 150+ year old cardboard looks far worse unless carefully stored in a museum. The bee's wax sealing the cartridge box would have become degraded and sticky. YMMV.

    time machine

Not to be smart but I had a good friend who was the same way. When he finally went for the pain in his back he found out he had advanced prostate cancer. If you're all alone in the world you can think like that but at 68 he left behind a widow. For me the big "C" wasn't about me, it was about...
