From research I've found it was made between 1978 and 1982. Also, my friend gave me one of two that he had and the serials are consecutive. We're scheming about selling them as a set. That way I can get something I can feel OK to shoot.

I am "blessed" with an exceptionally dry environment. But even so, I keep my gun well oiled and carefully clean out the chambers and load it. The only points that don't have rust inhibitor are the chambers and with the hydrophilic nature of BP, there won't be any corrosion going on.

Know one can get away with dropping the hammer on a cone. But if it is an expensive weapon....

In just the few replies I've received I'm leaning towards shooting it. I'd hate for my last thought as I take my last breath to be "dang! Shoulda shot it!" And the rest of the other things like telling my wife this, that and the other thing....
