What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Took my unfired for 8 months .50 Kentucky down off the wall and tore it down and gave it a cleaning to get it ready to make some smoke. Can't wait!

    Ignition while loading

Of all the accounts I have read, I have never read about "old timers" turning their head into a canoe with their weapon unless it was intended. I got my first ML when I was 13 ( a Zoli .58 Remington) and was taught to blow down the barrel before reloading. Do I still do it, yes. Will I do it to...

SOLD Uberti 1851 Colt Navy .36 (sold pending funds)

I purchased this in November 2022 from Dixie. It's a great shooter that is in immaculate shape. Nothing has been altered from the factory. I have put around 250 rounds through it, 90% of them being with 16gr of 3f and a rb. It will come with a two cavity LEE ball mold and a holster. It will ship...

A Question About Selling a Handgun

Thank you for that input. I figured the city for sure, wasn't sure about the rest of the state.

A Question About Selling a Handgun

I will soon be listing my Uberti 1851 Navy. My question to the members here is where should I restrict selling it to? I.E. NYC is off limits. I'd wager New Jersey is also. So I need the combined knowledge of the members to advise me on where not to send it.

WANTED Do not to do business with kd8jgu. He will not pay you.

That's what a lookup of his ham station call sign indicates.

WANTED Do not to do business with kd8jgu. He will not pay you.

His handle looks like a ham radio call sign. If he is in TX and his name is Charles, I have his physical address for law enforcement.

    New Mexico iron sights regulation.

I believe with the introduction of "inlines", the ML season is losing some of the intent of what it should be. The original idea being a more or less primitive hunt with older style guns. Inlines are a cheat, certainly scopes are.

And..... I guess I forgot to follow up, my apologies. It made loading quicker and smoother. No short starter needed. If one uses a piece of cloth and cuts it after starting the ball, you would go through more of it since the ball is seated a bit farther down the muzzle. I personally use pre...

Thank goodness, I only had one kidney left and I was saving it for a trade gun.

    Friday Afternoon Gun

That is too bad. I have had a few of them in different configurations and they all ran straight out of the box. Saving a few (whatever goes for pennies in Italy) by rushing QC is only going to cost them in the end.

Ease and accuracy of shooting. 1851 Navy vs 1858 Remington. Thoughts?

Apologies to those that have heard me say this before. Ive had several of each and like them both for different reasons. The colts are like sports car: high maintenance and temperamental. Everything has to be nearly perfect to run well. The Remington design is like the daily driver F150: its...

    Green bore lights

White light would probably be better, but I find the green ones work just fine. A suggestion, lay the gun down on a table or bed and place the light just inside the muzzle, the lit end going in first. Use a thin dowel (or ramrod if its not to big) and slowly move the light down the bore to get a...
