Building a British Pattern 1800 Rifle (Baker)

I'd be very concerned about shooting a rifle like that with a one pound trigger. While I'm certain that you know exactly what you are doing, I've not encountered a flintlock military long arm that had a less then a five/seven pound trigger. It's not any kind of a target rifle. The one I...

    Kibler Brown Bess?

I reckon that whatever model was the most common around the time of the Revolutionary War would be the winner. Before that there seems to be little interest, apart from the FIW, and afterwards even less.

Brett Gibbons shoots the first British general service rifle - the P51

Before anybody reminds me that the Baker rifle came in at the turn of the century, it was only the Rifle Regiments that got it - the .702cal P51 was intended for general infantry issue Mention is also made of the incredible five-part series in the Battle of Inkerman, by Rob Enfield of British...

    Pritchett bullet ?

The Pritchett bullet, a co-design by Pritchett and Metford, preceded the Minié design by a few short years, so that when the British went to war in the Crimea in 1854, the .702 cal Pritchett bullet was the sole option. Swaging was THE most common method of mass-production of these large...

The average stair-wall in most every castle or stateley home in Scotland.....

Not at all. In England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales - the United Kingdom - antique firearms are not 'rendered inert' Where did you get that idea?

The average stair-wall in most every castle or stateley home in Scotland.....

Well, the fact is that they are regularly taken down, cleaned and 'Renaissance Waxed', so suddenly finding one that was loaded after 250 years is unlikely.

The average stair-wall in most every castle or stateley home in Scotland.....

No Sir. The stair wall is the wall that faces the mid-landing of a stair that ascends to it from at least two sides, As you enter the hall, the stair-wall faces you, with a section of stair on each side of the hall leading up to it.
