Why not use the old spring, save some work and the new spring or is it weak?

    Buck vs Doe

In NJ they suspended deer hunting a couple times for several years. Once around 1860 and again around 1900. They imported deer in the early 1900s to build back the herd. Think this may have from war or hide hunting.

    Buck vs Doe

I'm 76 this month and when I grew up in NJ we could only shoot bucks. As I got older there were option like a doe day to shoot does. I was taught that when you shot a doe you killed 2 deer for next year, witch there is probably some truth to. Wonder what other think about this and in colonial...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I've taken the journey, with a block of wood to a rifle, it was fun, challenging and turned out pretty nice. Next time it will be a Kibler because it was a long journey.

Davis replacement trigger set for Hawkins style rifles

Hard, brittle, and fast PRB for more damage?

I'm shooting a PRB 50. cal 42" barrel and getting 1700 fps. I would love to slow it down, but I'm not confident it would do the job. From what I'm reading slower may be better, Just how slow can I go? I'm not shooting over 50 yds as a rule.

    Larger Flash Hole

If I'm using 2f powder I use a .0625 touch hole, using 3f I use a bit smaller maybe .055. I don't like the powder coming out into the pan, I like it piled against the the inside of the touch hole. I think your problem is something else, like to much oil in the breech, wiping between shots and...

    Repair or replace

Personally I would of never used wood with that grain direction in a gunstock or would of oriented it differently

Do you think that modern ML firearms have any investment value?

I think the $1000 +or - you put into a BP gun isn't worth worrying about. My advice for investing is buy real estate. You will have fun with a gun and won't lose much if anything ,real estate you have to maintain , but can make money while you own it and keep up with inflation plus when you...
