    Which group is the best?

45 is the worst the other 3 are about the same. With that in mind I would go with the lightest good load, 50.

A bit of time with the GPR

I have Rice radius grove that was blowing .022 pillow ticking. I went to .023 canvas duck (coarse weave) and it was very hard to load, but they stayed together. I then tried some 10oz denim .021 ( fine tight weave) and it loaded much better and they stayed together. What I'm saying is the...

Kibler fowler, a couple of photos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The definition of the word build, (construct (something) by putting parts or material together). Olskool was correct in his description of what he was going to and you sir (sidney smith) were very disrespectful and condescending, something we don't need on the platform.

Kibler fowler, a couple of photos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

My last gun I build was from a plank, but I don't care how other people acquire their guns, as long as they do. In fact I would consider a kibler myself, they are great guns I'm sure.

    Long range shooting

I can hit this helium tank about 50% of the time at 165-175 yds with my 40 cal. With a bit of practice I think I could get close to 100%. I don't think the long shots are that hard, with some Kentucky windage and a good rest and I think our ancestors could of definitely accomplished 200-300 yd...

    Whom Used a Frizzen Stall?

Had a percussion go off on the half cock, hammer got bumped and boom. A hole (me) through the door of my 70 El Camino from the inside. Happened many years ago ,but I'll never forget it. I guess to my hunting accomplishment I can add one El Camino. Be safe, Phil

    pennsylvania bear hunting

I hunt on my farm and don't field dress dear, I take them to the barn and put it in a tub. I do this because I don't want the scavengers, ie coyotes around, we have lambs in very early spring and we have had many taken. In other situations I think it's proper to field dress and leave it.

    Considering a .40 caliber

I have a .40 Tenn Mt. Great gun to shoot, very accurate, easy on powder, with little recoil. I thought of it as a mide caliber like a .243. Unfortunately her it NJ it's to small for dear (I don't think that, it's the law) and to large for small game (law again). Fortunately I have a farm so...

Why the flare on swamped barrels?

I alway thought it was because the early barrels were forged and and the smiths pushed the waist out to get the length, Then maybe after they held it up, they liked it and it became a thing. In other words it happened by accident. Just my take on things. Phil

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Today I shot the rifle I been working on and shooting for the last 5 months and today I'm going to have to call her a shooter. I shot 10 shot at the target 4 with Swiss 2f all I had and 6 with Goex 2f. As you can see the 4 swiss shot higher ( the lower swiss hung a bit and I pulled it). The...

Too many options for rifle build

I think first you need to decide what rifle you want. Then look to see where you can get it and what forms it's available in. I didn't buy a Kibler for two reasons, they didn't have what I wanted and I wanted to build a rifle not put it together. That being said I have the greatest respect...
