    Patterning navy double 12 gauge

Looks very good, try 3 cards under shot And /or bump up the powder a little more to see if you can get more even spread. A very good pattern any way you cut it, but it's a little heavy on the lower half

    First muzzleloading elk hunt...

I leave my turkey hunting snoothebore loaded all season until I get on a bird. If rain was a concern I would put a black piece of duct tape over the end of the muzzle and you could simply shoot as is or peel it off. A good fitting cap will keep moisture out of the breech. I personally dont lower...

Try loading the bird gun with 75gr 3f, 3 thin overshot cards 1oz shot, 1 overshot card. Should produce a good bird pattern

    Need something soldered, recommendations

So what type of solder would one use? My dad is a jeweler and he may be able to fix it. I haven't asked him yet, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have the correct solder.

    Need something soldered, recommendations

I thought about using jb weld but I thought if it doesn't work it will be difficult for someone to solder after the fact. The barrel is nice and tight now, so I got it where I want it. Bending it wasn't the problem, trying to un-bend it was. I tapped a flathead through the slot and that's what...

    Need something soldered, recommendations

I just bought a pedersoli sxs and the barrel was loose. I own 3 and all of them I have had to do this. The newer ones have a more robust pipe where the wedge goes through. I didn't notice this difference until it was too late.I used a punch to bend the slot in the pipe the wedge goes through but...

    What Remington 1858 to Buy?

    What Remington 1858 to Buy?

Pedersoli is the best one. If you only wanna shoot round ball then pietta will do. If you think you may want to try conicals then uberti is it. The piettas the rammer extends into the loading port and personally i cant stand that. It also has a slower twist rate.I have an uberti, one in 44 and...

How much powder for dove load?

Perhaps I will try some 3f swiss as well this weekend. However it's worth noting I was using 2f swiss and the swiss is a finer powder in 2f than some other brands 3f.

How much powder for dove load?

    Buckshot Loads in a Smoothie?

Shooting buck shot in the air would be dangerous and lead for waterfowl is illegal. Just not worth the risk. We have other options. Use tss, that's more dense than lead. You can use a smaller shot size compared to the other non toxic shot, and therefore have a pattern that is dense and longer...

How much powder for dove load?

Not saying there is anything wrong with it, just wanted others opinions. I don't have anywhere I can shoot skeet, so the public dove field will be my practice. How much of a lead do you put on a dove with blackpowder shotgun
