    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Looks like a sturdy set up for sure. How does it transport? Can you shoot high enough up a tree while seated while squirrel hunting? Thanks for posting.

I have a trigger stick mono. I think the bipod will work much better.

A quick cursory look on the Internet, I found Powder Valley with the best price, around 120 (bipod model), worst price was fleabay pushing 150. If Jim and Ed say they are good to go, I'll get some eventually. Just after Christmas. I won't spend money on myself until I replenish my sock drawer stash.

    What the heck, rust?

I've used Pyro P in the past in a .32 with some luck, but as for a larger bore rifle 👎

My first cap and ball revolver

Congrats on your purchase👍 I'll make a suggestion to you that you order a set of Slix shot nipples for your Navy. Take the frustration of cap sucking and cap jams out of the equation. Most importantly, have fun with her👍

Clean with water, let it sit muzzle down in the corner. Clean you lock, nipple, and whatever else. Couple of dry patches down the bore, then one with dubya d 40 or denatured alcohol to displace any water, one more dry patch to make sure, then saturate a patch with Birchwood Casey's Barricade...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

I'm not what you'd call "too dumb". I was home schooled in my early years, and was reading at highschool level in second grade. It all changed for me when I got my first squirrel gun, and had several classmates with the same interest. That many stump jumpers in one place was detrimental to a...

I told a teacher once, history teacher to be exact, which I did get good grades in, I told him if he let me pack my lip with Kodiak, and we talked about hunting and fishing, he'd have my undivided attention.🤣 He hated me. Mr. Ebbersmire.

Ive learned to not dwell on it too much. I'd bet my last bump of bourbon that I've used all of my extra lives. Nowadays I just try not to walk under ladders and what not, I can't afford to do dumb stuff anymore 🤣

Flora, and fauna. Plants and animals. See there, I wasn't always daydreaming about squirrel hunting when I was in school. Well, daydreamed about catching big blue catfish too🤣 but I do remember a teacher saying something about those 2 things. Maybe she was one of the better looking ones🤔

Take your time with it buddy. Just like planning any hunt, you make sure your knife is sharp, your rifle cleaned and ready, your speed loaders and ball pouch are filled, you got plenty of patched in your can of mink oil. Some goes for YOU, don't push yourself too much. That whole one step...
