    unless they are rounded you should be able to pressure flake a new sharp edge using an antler or copper wire to push off micro flakesthe leather on wood is to help hold the flint while pressure flaking if you watch the below you will see how I knap a new edge (and some fun shooting)

    I put one in my grandson's rifle and had Brad at Cabin creek fix/tune it he stated that it had a lot to fix cost more than the lock ,my Chambers locks are much better out of the box !Brad Tunes those locks for 1/3 the cost of the L&R 01 replacement No more kit guns or L&R for me

    yes, the faster the better ! a much younger me with a nice buckif temp 40 or below let it hang with body cavity open to cool overnight then skin butcher, if over 40 skin and butcher same day of kill, right after the photo

    the other thing to try (for green mountain barrels) is to smooth out the cut rifling (suggested to me by Mr Dixon) 50-100 strokes of fine steel wool w oil did wounders for a couple of my rifles(see if patches are getting cuts)went from this to thissame rifle after smoothing out rifling and load...

    if you're having trouble with the sights try a simple peep sight to co witness your open sights (cause you to mount the rifle the same every time) then you can remove after working up loads if you want tothis one was made from an old dog lic,

    try a thicker patch 10oz denim and a good lube I'm betting 70-80- grains of3 f swiss ( or 80-90 goex) will group use a good bench and rest to work up the load then try off hand top is 1st clean barrel then three touching ,then moved sights to hit aim point

    if you build a bench make it tall, so you don't need to hunch over your rifle (seated). it should let you shoot in a position more like standing/hunting target/game, with open sights your cheek weld matters , if you change your mount/cheek position your sight in will/might be off. the problem...

    try loading with your touch hole /vent hole pick in the hole while loading maintains a clear vent( a feather will also work) use the pick every shot
