I use 2F for my 50 cal fast twist, 54 cal slow twist and 62 cal smoothie. Prime my smooth with 2F too. just keeps it simple to use one and they all shoot well. Have used 3F in my 50 when I was in a bind and it didn’t shoot as well but I didn’t work on different loads.

Hi, just been looking at the pecatonica rifles, in particular their full stock hawken and jager. Has anyone had experience with them and their quality? If I was going to get one it’d be in the white, don’t have the time nor the interest in working through the whole thing myself.

I have one and it’s a great sparker and shooter. I’m sure you can get a more expensive custom one that might look more period correct which seems to bother some people. If not you can’t beat it.

It definitely should come with a patch box, is it the frontier or the Cabelas Blue Ridge? Same rifle with different finish. Maybe there is a deluxe version that has maple but no patch box? mths onein the pic doesn’t have the brass nose cap either, id go so far to say that’s not the frontier deluxe.

Wow you’ve had some bad luck, I have three, two caplock and a flintlock and they are all faultless.

Does anyone know the dovetail size for the rear sight? I have a spare elevation adjustable .375” dovetailed semi buckhorn from my Pedersoli RM hawken. Would alleviate the need to touch the front sight I think if it fits.

All the Pedersolis I’ve seen have been great shooters and fast ignition. Maybe not exact copies of guns from times past but if you don’t care then it’s a moot point. Thinking I’ll get a frontier flint in 54 next, customs are nice but though they’re 2-4 times the price, I haven’t seen any...

Hi, I want to enlarge my touch hole, planning on using a 1/16” bit. My touch hole liner is seized into place and cannot be removed. Are there any issues with drilling it while in the gun? Will the metal shavings that go into the bore present any issues or will they shoot/clean out?
