Oh dear, this is not MY Canada......

In the U S, we have a preponderance of stupid mean people. Very little polite society.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Discussion of God or religion on this board leaves a good opportunity for derisiveness as I believed there are some very stiff necked people of either side here. Like was said discussion of the simple flint can be problematical.

Huge Gun Show; Not a Cap In Sight

The promoter is the only one that makes any money as everyone else is a payer.

Strange Day for Me in the Woods.

I think that some of us as we get older become more aware of the sanctity of life. After the military and 20 years of police work things that are alive just look better to me anymore....

    wasting powder & caps

I've found that the best way to keep from wasting powder while filling measures is to pay attention to what you are doing.

    Cow Elk Load

A five inch group at a hundred yards means that every shot landed within two and a half inches of the aiming point. On an elk's side that isn't enough to worry about. Let the bench rest shooters worry about group size.

How fast can BP revolvers be reloaded?

If I wanted a quick reload I'd shoot one of my 1911's but I kind of like the slow style of loading a 51 or 60 cap and ball revolver. Gives me time to ponder what I'm doing.

    Kibler's next gun?

I doesn't matter a bit what he decides to make. He'll sell a bunch of whatever it is to people on and off this board.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I do all my easy living in the house. All the outdoor sorts of stuff gets done in the garage and back yard. About half my cooking gets done out on the patio on one of three BBQ's or large propane stove.

    Steel vs Brass frame differences?

I have an 1851 Pietta, an1860 Uberti, and an 1858 Uberti, all are steel frame and all very satisfactory. Can't help with the brass frames but a lot of people have them and are satisfied. Leave the cartridge guns to cartridge guns would be my suggestion.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Went to the first cub shoot of our year this morning.. We shooting in winter here in Yuma. Shot a .45 cal Seneca 8 times and it did well, shot a flintlock 62-20 smoothbore with sights and prb's and it too did well. Surgically altered back said it had had enough so I came home. Now to clean guns.

    Using TOTW Mink Oil?

I pre lube patches with the mink oil. Just rub some onto them, it doesn't take much, then I put them into one of those plastic .22 cartridge boxes from cci with the sliding top. They keep for a good log while.

    Not toys

BP revolvers might be a little more finicky to load, but they get the same job done. Don't point one at anything you don't want to destroy.
