How good are L+R locks as a Hawken “drop in”

Does anyone have any experience with fitting an L+R lock on a TC Hawken?

    I’m curious

I used the Interarms Hawken at our last club shoot last weekend. I’m pleased with results, as I did better than I ever had at 25 yds and 50 yds. thanks for all the replies. I have ordered a Tom A Hawk peep sight, and expect to do better.

    I’m curious

at 25 and 50 yds, the Interarms shoots to the same impact point. Tried it out yesterday at our shoot and it worked fine. I was very pleased with the results. now to replace the sights, and press on.

    I’m curious

It was all a moot point as once I got to the range I discovered my Lyman rear peep sight had somehow gotten bent. I will see if I can straighten it somehow. good news is my old Interarms Hawken shot well at 25 and 50 yards, even with those awful Hawken sights on it. I will change them out.

Up early to make it to the monthly Talking Rock shoot. Great bunch of shooters, and a lot of fun!

    Feeling good

I went to the range today, and had all sorts of troubles. my TC Hawkin was really acting up. Set trigger was all messed up, sometimes the cock would only go to half cock, poor ignition. Frustrating! However, i shot another gun, came home and checked this forum. had an idea and did a search for...

    I’m curious

I will check this tomorrow at the range, but am curious, so I’ll post this to see what you all think. .50 TC Flintlock, 72 gr of 2 F, pretty accurate at 50 yds so far. if target was switched to 25 yds, I am thinking I would have to hold low to have a chance of hitting one of those miserable...

    Loose barrel wedge

I wonder if an overly tight wedge would affect accuracy in some way. I suspect it would, but do not actually know.

    Loose barrel wedge

thank you guys! I gave that little rascal a couple of light taps, and it is nicely tight now. Snug, but easy to remove with a decent push. another of the many reasons I like this forum.

    Loose barrel wedge

I have a nice Interarms Hawken that I have had for more than 30 yrs. It was my first BP gun, and gave me my injection of the flintlock virus. Still have it, and the virus too. The Barrel wedge is not a tight enough fit. I was looking at the rifle in my shop, and it fell right out of the gun. it...
