    Buckhorn replacement sight from Pedersoli

Through a mishap, the rear sight on my Hatfield got damaged. Ordered a new one via Pedersoli sine their Frontier mirrors the Hatfield. Waited over 3 months for it. It came packaged in a undamaged bubble wrap envelope, within a stiff cardboard shipping sleeve. This is what I received. I have...

    cheek slapper

You’ll have to remove the comb on top of the stock. I had one, a 50 cal., got a slight black eye everytime I shot it for any long period. Solution, I sold it.

Traditions Shedhorn failing to set off #11 caps

Get a caliper, take the nipple out. Measure the inside diameter of your cap at the open end. Now measure the nipple where this open end should be if fully on the nipple. I put the nipple in a cordless drill and use a small file to reduce nipple diameter. Remember you have to reduce the...

    Casting

I’ve found with the 6 hole it takes 5-6 fills before the mold is heated evenly. I pour with a ladle rather than bottom pour. But yes, the balls, once the mold is heated are darn near perfect.

    lubing patches

Have to say, I’ve never felt a liquid prelubed patch fouled the powder, if shot immediately after loading. I’ve used dawn/water mixture, Hoppes BP lube and spit In various concentrations. Had a discussion with an old timer who figured if the load is tight, except for the exact center diameter...

Went my local Veteran's range with my 40 cal MLto shoot the August Spud target. A friends Granddaighter, who was shooting an unmentionable next to me, kept watching and asking questions. I Asked if she would like to learn to load and shoot, didn’t have to ask twice. She really enjoyed the...

Got #11 CCI caps in Walmart today

22 years, since your gonna pop a cap to clear your nipple/drum and powder chamber. Unless you fumble and drop a few like me. I’m thinking of getting a piece of carpet to stand on when I shoot, so if I drop one these 20–30 cent caps, it won’t bounce away or settle in the gravel.
