    Dang Priming Horns

Try using your powder horn for priming for a while and see if you grow to like it. Less stuff to tote and fumble around with.

Show N Tell your first MLer rifle

Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle .50 cal purchased new in 1980 (upper rifle in photo). For nearly twenty years it was the only rifle I owned. Hunting, rendezvous, club shoots, plinking in the woods, used it for everything. I've shot more rounds through it than all of my other firearms combined...

    SOLD Rifleman's Knife

Tallpine, I would be proud to own it, if it is still available. It would be a very nice addition to the others of your knives that I own. PM sent.

Hiding the classified won't make any difference to me. "Lead me not into temptation, for I can find it myself."

    Won A Hawkin!

When luck was being handed out I must have been napping. Purchased many raffle tickets over the last half of a century but never won anything. No worries, they have all been worthy causes so I see it all as well spent donations. Congratulations on your win. That is a great rifle you are bound...

    Pedersoli Rust Brown Barrel?

My Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Rifle had that ugly sprayed on glossy brown finish. I don't know for sure what it is made of, but it can be easily removed. I brushed on a layer of epoxy solvent gel and allowed it to sit over night. The next day using a cloth I wiped off the gel and coating with no...

    Finished my Colonial

Nice job. The patch box suits it nicely. By going easy on the metal and wood finish time and the elements will work their magic and the rifle will grow ever more handsome.

    Kibler side effect?

The man works hard to make a quality product at a competitive price and offers customer service and support that is second to none, and still there are naysayers. I swear, I think some people would complain if they were hung with a brand new rope.

    Homemade cleaning Patches

I bought used cotton flannel baby blankets from a local thrift store for $1.25 each. For an investment of $10 USD I have more cleaning patches than I will ever be able to use. The bonus is that 100% of the thrift store proceeds go to the animal shelter that runs the store. Yet another bonus is...

    gloss finish ?

This is what five coats of Miniwax Antique Oil Finish looks like. The more coats added the deeper and glossier the finish will be.

    Bag dump time.

I sure do enjoy seeing all of the fine kits you fellas have put on display. Here is my contribution. I make my own bags, one for each firearm. I carry in the shooting bag only what is needed to keep the gun running. The short starter and flint napping hammer have since been eliminated because...

    Bowie knife sheath

A friend recently acquired a bowie knife with a thin flimsy sheath, and asked if I could make a more durable sheath. His interest is in the Southwest and in particular Texas frontier history. I gave it a hint of Mexican influence. I tried to talk him out of the snap for a more HC retainer, but...

SOLD RANGE BOX FS REDUCED 2/2/24

Spiderman's boxes are well designed, beautifully crafted and reasonably priced. I have a large one made of Hackberry, when not in use it sits on display in my living room because it's "purdy to look at".

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

Upon the arrival of a new gun the box along with the manufacture's detritus in the box go into the trash. I don't care if my firearms would bring a few dollars more in sale accompanied by the manufacture's box. It's not worth the potential few extra denarii to me to have piles of clutter...

    Pedersoli locks bad?

Pedersoli percussion locks are fine, but the flintlocks are of more random quality. Can't say for sure what your odds are of getting a good Pedersoli flintlock, but I can say that my experience has been 60% good straight out of the box, and 80% overall. Of the five I own three were good to go on...
