    Suggestions—> Broken Screw

Thank you. I’m not familiar with a Reverse Cut Bit. But you gave me an idea. Assuming the patch box comes off. Dremel a slot in the top of the screw post and unscrew it. Taking a break from it for a bit. Will get back on it.

    Suggestions—> Broken Screw

I was cleaning up the slotted screws on a TC Hawken patch box today and likely weekend the screw head. One half of the flat part of the screw head broke off. Sometimes I guess it’s best to leave well enough alone. Likely I’m not the first guy to do this so I’m looking for ideas on how to...

    Rifled Barrel to Smooth?

Novice question. Could a used T/C .50 rifled barrel be drilled out and polished for use as a smooth bore shotgun. Or is there more to making a ML shotgun barrel such as forcing cone etc.? Cost? Thank You

    Old Caps-Are these corrosive?

Old Dixie Gun Works caps, maybe from the 80’s/90’s. Are they corrosive, ok to use?

    Bore light

Looks like the end of the Traditions light is too large for the light to slide down into the barrel. Just inserting the clear part blocks the view of the bore on a traditional muzzleloader correct?

Caps are very old. Small red round metal tin from Dixie Gun Works. Larger than a quarter, smaller than a fifty cent piece.

    T/C Hawken Hammer Problem

No, shooting 70/80gr of FFFG w/round ball. I ordered two Ampco nipples today. This thread was very helpful. I knew the hammer going to half cock wasn’t normal I didn’t know it was dangerous. Thanks Xclnt advice, thanks.

    T/C Hawken Hammer Problem

I’ll replace it. Looking into what a good replacement would be. The ones sold as “hot” I guessed had a larger channel but that must be incorrect.

    T/C Hawken Hammer Problem

Shot the T/C Hawken yesterday and every few shots the hammer would bounce to half cock after being fired. I’ll pull the lock today and check the screws on the pressure plate. Looking for other possibilities. Couple more questions: If the screws are loose should blue Loctite be used? What are...

    Lyman # 31 Sight fit T/C Hawken?

Does anyone know if the Lyman # 31 front blade gold bead sight is a direct replacement for the T/C Hawken front blade sight. Excluding bead they look identical and I believe both are a 3/8” dovetail and .50” tall, dovetail base to top of blade. Thank you for the assistance.

    Hello from the Silver State

New to Muzzleloaders. After a family member bought an inline I stumbled across a previously owned but unfired T/C Hawken .50 cal.. Trying to put everything together so I can get out and fire it. So far #11 caps are scarce. Not in stock anywhere locally so online it is. I enjoy the forums and...
