Squirrel Rifle Update: Approaching completion. Parts are mostly finished, just lack blackening barrel and sights. Hampered by fact that I ran out of Jax Black; waiting for more. That's ok, stock will take a while longer anyway. Tried & True Varnish is notoriously slow to harden.

Thanks Lead Mosquito. Very cool weapon. Light, versatile, all business. My next will be a smoothbore.

I lightly cut the dark spot, and it makes the light lighter and the dark darker LOL. That's enough, I'm going with it like it is. Wife looked and saw the dark streak, then I rotated it and she saw the black turn blond, and she was like "Whut? Weird."

"You never know what you're going to get with iron nitrate / AF...". Heard that many times. First time I got an unusual outcome. I liked the way the right side of the stock turned out: But the cheek side! Wow what a confused grain pattern - totally different from the other side. Extreme...

Exactly my case to a T Cruiser. I can read the eye chart one line below 20/20. Focus is not my problem, although I have some astigmatism. Its the cataracts. My doc will do them right now, but I'm still functional except for low light / night driving. Starlight effect from headlights blinds me. I...

Assembly is more or less finished, Fred: That's the easy part. Finishing the metal parts and the stock is a much longer process!

Scott, What are some of the ways you suggest to do this to preserve the pelt? My taxidermist says don't get it wet.

Same here, @snakebit . Stiff sore neck. My GP says it's "SCM Muscle" [ Link to article ], ok whatever. He gave me a shot in the neck muscle and it did help for a while... Anyway, @ETipp , #1 is a beeotch for me, rb, .22, shotgun, pellet gun, slingshot, spitwad, no matter the weapon 🤣.

I went down there the day after they failed to deliver it and shipped it to Buffalo. I also got online and filled out a form at the national level and got a case number. The postmaster just waited till the next day and called and read me back the tracking info. You're right, all weekend it's...
