    Thompson Center Hawken Round Ball Barrel?

    Depends on condition, inside and out. generally they do shoot good, but a lot of people say otherwise. Have seen them from 75$ to 300$. condition, condition, and condition. It is generally a crap shoot, bore scope would help a lot.

    How hard are you reinstalling the wedge? you should not need any more than a light tap from small screw driver, wooden or plastic handle, or even just a good finger pressure

    First it appears that you have some sort of debris in the bottom of that barrel, to me it appears as possible remnants of a bore brush ?You need to get the bore cleaned out of obstructions and cleaned well and a breech scraper utilized for that sized breech.     You should be able to get close to 44 magnum velocities of 1250 fps, probably 1090 more like it. Give triple 7 powder a try. Keep it 25 yards and under, careful use of shot angle, use a slightly harder cast ball or bullet and practice, practice practice, and you will be fine

    One hole groups from a gun every time it goes to the range for what ever reason, and for how many shots fired, is not a possible reality. I have been told of these guns, but yet to see one, Everybody shoots a screamer or two now and then, some refer to them as "wallet groups" to show off...

    Different cap height trivia

    Measured mine REM. .152 CCI .165 RWS .160 I use a Polish Capper and have no problems. May be they do not hold close tolerances in manufacturing as they should. :dunno:
