Okay calm down dude. We are here to talk about our hobby and not our personal beliefs and opinions.

    Inflation/fuel question?

As to OP's question, I've been feeling it in my pocket book. I'm fortunate to work from home mostly, but the prices for BP items and availability is difficult. It reminds me how lucky we are to have luxury hobbies and how quickly they can disappear when times are rough. PS: Lot of people...

    Kibler kit assembly and carving

To add to Dave's above point, Jim Kibler has photos on his site that includes a lot of "plain" rifles without any embellishments that are frankly beautiful to look at just by being assembled with a basic finish. Southern Mountain Rifle Kit Gun Photo Gallery...

    Kibler kit assembly and carving

Was trying to fire a 1916 unmentionable and my blunderbuss about 6 months ago, and a guy with a very short barreled Russian device was blasting away and and it felt like I was being flicked in the eyeball by the concussion of it every time he shot. Would LOVE some sort of baffle in the range...

    Roundball and bullet lube

I'm very new but from my experience reading for a few months I would say no. Otherwise people would be making such claims in topics like this. I think lubricant differences only come down to fouling and cleaning rates.

    Roundball and bullet lube

I was asking another user who said he was in Florida haha sorry. Trying to find people close to me so I can learn more.

What was the name of that organization if you don't mind me asking? Do they have a site?

    NMLRA fighting

A bit disheartening to hear from a younger guy like myself new to the hobby. Maybe its time for us young guys to start making new orgs.

    Anybody have this problem

It might be worth replacing the sights with taller ones if possible/comfortable.

    Anybody have this problem

Hope I'm pinging someone right, but @dave_person when building my rifle recommended bluing the barrel because it reduces the heat waves off the barrel would obscure the sights in the Florida heat. Is your Fowler barrel untreated raw steel?

    Danger of rapid firing?

No speculation, it's widely known the flare was too help with loading. Not only easier to hold but easier to catch powder on a rocking deck and easier to push shot or ball. This is the first time I've heard about the use as a club. Any blunderbuss that has a cartoon esque flare is just...

    Danger of rapid firing?

My question is do those flash offs happen as soon as you pour the charge? I think I'd be worried less over a flash and burnt hand and more over if the flash off happens while seating a ball, in which case you can lose a hand.

    Black powder TV Bob?

Look at the comments in his last video. He had a bout with cancer I believe and it was quite a surprise. They operated successfully and he is in recovery. New videos were going to happen eventually when he is 100% again. I believe that was about a month or two ago. EDIT: Found it.

    Danger of rapid firing?

There has been some research done and there is a theory that a lot of soldiers in history didn't really want to kill and a lot would aim slightly lower or higher than the presented target, or simply fire in the general direction. The irony if some civil war soldier didn't want to kill someone...

    Danger of rapid firing?

Got mine from veteran arms, the "french blunderbuss". InRangeTV recommended it, and I thought it would be a good starter black powder gun. I wish the trigger was better and the hammer was a bit softer but otherwise it seems pretty good compared to other guns I've seen. It's no kibler or custom.

    Danger of rapid firing?

I spent hours a few months ago painstakingly wrapping those cartridges. I feel the need to use them as intended, which was too speed up the firing process in combat. Otherwise I would agree that ML as a hobby is an otherwise relaxing event for me. This was just to test my loading skill and to...
