For the Want of a Wire Coat Hanger

I threw probably about 50+ in the recycle can a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t know people found a whole lot of uses for them. I have used them in the past for one thing or the other but mainly used for hanging clothes. I did call the local Goodwill and asked them if they wanted them, they declined.

    What’s up with the holes

My guess is they are there to make the lid easier to get off. you don't have to overcome the "suction" (not the right term I'm sure) as you pull two tight fitting lid/base apart.

    Re-vamp the site?

Almost every forum that I have ever belonged to has cost me money, this one is no different. For the time being I just ignore the classified.

Oxidized balls, think they will be a problem?

I have heard that lead oxide is harder than lead and abrasive. Don’t know how true that is and if it is true, would the abrasive properties harm the bore? More so in a revolver due to the fact that it is not patched. One would think that the patch would protect the bore of a rifle. I don’t...

Cleaning / Shining up Brass Framed Revolvers?

dezincification, love it! There is a word for everything. Bought a used truck last weekend and unfortunately the previous owner was a smoker. I’m in the process of destinkification. Did the recommended procedure with OdoBan from their YouTube channel, hoping it lasts! I’m sure I didn’t coin a...

Cleaning / Shining up Brass Framed Revolvers?

Another Flitz user. It also works on other metals, including stainless and nickel plating. I have used it on those metals along with brass and silver. I have even used it on dulled plastic headlight lenses with good results.

    Hello from Pittsburgh!

Welcome in. Beaver country, White Twp. here. Great place here, lots of knowledge and good people. One of the best forums I’ve belonged to. Although it has cost me money. Sometimes I get a case of “gotta have it “ this place doesn’t help that condition!

    Antiqued 1858 Pietta

As mom used to say, “To each his own.” I just don’t get it. To me that would be like buying a new car and slapping it with a chain here and there to give it that “well used” look. But if you like, that’s all that matters!

Owners of original (not modern replicas) C&B revolvers, do you shoot them?

Interesting stories and I can hardly debate your logic, however if they seem sound and functional I can also understand firing them. I guess, the value of the particular firearm is what I would use to make a decision. It seems a shame, in a way, to not use them for their intended purpose. I...

Owners of original (not modern replicas) C&B revolvers, do you shoot them?

Interesting so far. As you might be able to tell from my avatar, I like classic motorcycles. There is a saying among those of us that are collectors/owners, “ride ‘em don’t hide ‘em.” And among any type of vehicle in general the somewhat derogatory term is “trailer queen”. Just like we have our...

Owners of original (not modern replicas) C&B revolvers, do you shoot them?

I have watched episodes of Pawn Stars and they have always said that a shoot-able firearm is more valuable than one that is not. Just curious about those who own them, if they are perfectly functional, do you shoot them?

    Help fixing a dumb mistake.

I watch a YouTube channel, Project Farm. The man does some really interesting tests and comparisons and he buys everything himself, he does not accept any sponsors. Anyway he did a penetrating fluid test. here is a link to that episode In case you don't care to watch it, He used 6 different...

    Did I ruin grips

We have a joke here in Pennsylvania. How can you tell that toothpaste was invented in West Virginia? If it were invented anywhere else it would be called teethpaste.

    Did I ruin grips

Why does everyone call the Colt grip, grips? It is a one piece grip. It like saying I washed my cars…when you only have one.

    time machine

If I were to pick a time to live in it wouldn’t be that one. I was born in 1955, of course I was only 6 when the 60’s hit and they were screwed up in their own right. So in America, probably the 1950s were some of the best times to be alive. Many of the modern advantages others have mentioned...
