New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

Funny meme. I had a motorcycle mechanic who used to say this about anti seize, “you can paint your house with a thumb full.” But regarding rusted nipples from the factory. The one Pietta that I got wasn’t rusted but some of them had bluing salts leeching out from the threads. Anyone who has had...

New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

I’m a hoarder too, even my mother called me that, God rest her soul. My cousin is just the opposite and he feels that I should sell many of my possessions and donate the proceeds to charity. I don’t have a problem with that to some extent but there may come a time where I am forced to sell some...

With proper care, rusting is not inevitable.

New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

As Judge Judy says, "You ate the steak." The OP seems happy and that is Okay with me but to me it is a cautionary post. I have ordered from Midway with no extremely negative issues but I never did like their "no return" policy. And as we have seen here, that can be overlooked if need be. And...

New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

Yeah but it’s just not right to pay new price for a used item. Personally I would not keep it but if I did I would want a discount. I understand not dealing with an hourly employee, but writing a letter with photos included should get somebody’s attention. Threatening to file a report with the...

New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

Hopefully you paid with a credit card. If so contact them (though they will want you to have contacted the seller before getting them involved, once you have done so with no satisfaction) your credit card company will fight for you.

    Ferric Nitrate - Again

I've done a search and read some of the threads and have also searched on the Net, guitar and knife makers forums. Not sure I got the answer I am looking for. Made a maple grip for a Colt Navy replica, not fancy wood, no figure or Birds Eye just a plain piece I had laying around since forever...

    Pedersoli or ruger

Found this very informative site about the ROA, should answer most questions.

    FOR SALE sold

Pretty nice example for a very fair price. I like that the grip frame is not one of the painted ones. I think those are anodized aluminum? Does it have the warning stamped on the top of the barrel? Personally I think the pre-warnings examples are more desirable. If it is pre-warning a photo...

    Pedersoli or ruger

I know that when I was looking to pick up my first ROA, I saw some great prices on used ones in the UK. I contacted one seller who said that he would like to sell it to me but wasn’t sure what or how many hoops he would have to jump through to do so. So I was unable to take advantage of the good...

SPECIAL SELECT MAPLE Kibler Kits Move quickly!!!

Sorta hurts though, doesn’t it? I definitely have things that I want to sell but my plan is to get serious about that when I retire, which might be the beginning of next year…God willing! Of course I’m also considering just buying another safe!

    Who can relate

I start cleaning when I can’t find something that I’m looking for. I often have those, “I wondered where that was” moments.

SPECIAL SELECT MAPLE Kibler Kits Move quickly!!!

I’ll admit that I have more “stuff” than any one person needs. I was telling a coworker yesterday that I just purchased a new handgun. She said, think what you are doing to your poor niece (who will be the executrix of my estate). My answer, “I don’t care.” She will be ahead of the game when all...

Anyone here own exclusively muzzle loading firearms?

I was watching a podcast with two lawyers discussing self defense. The one lawyer said that he asked his clients who had WON their case if they would do it again, he said that none of them answered “yes”. That said, I still carry and would use deadly force should someone break into my house...

    Gunbroker Unscrupulous Sellers

Got some fair deals there, I wouldn't call them good deals. LGS or local forums are my go to for used items. New, I just shop around on the Net, I have a couple go to places that have good prices and reasonable or free shipping. My FFL dealer is a great guy, I like doing business with him and...

Anyone here own exclusively muzzle loading firearms?

I would assume that we have some who fall into that category but very few I would guess. I enjoy and appreciate all types and categories of firearms. The only firearms that I don't like are cheaply made ones. They have their place I suppose, everyone regardless of their financial situation...
