Yes, it was used instead of baking powder particularly when baking powder was not to be had.

This project has been on hold for a while now basically because I need to harden the frizzen. Having never done anything like that in the past I just put it to the side. Yes I did watch some videos and noted everyone talked about using hardening compound. Did a search and all I could find is...

Never heard of them so I did a quick review check and didn't find a lot. Apparently they are a small company out of Canada so take that into consideration. The limited reviews available (all Amazon) show a better than average positive feed back with two definite negatives. One was quality...

The biggest potential problem I see is lining up the touch holes with the pans. So as a hypothetical if they don't line up (and there's room) how feasible would it be to seal the existing touch hole and drill a new one? Uummmmmm.........

I've been thinking about it off and on for a while now. First is picking up a inletted Pecatonica Transitional stock with the matching Davis Jaeger lock and probably the trigger also and moving the other hardware over from my reworked H&A Minuteman. The other is doing pretty much the same...

Found these 3 videos, two specifically on the Victory and the other a general ship of the line using Victory as the model. Thought this might be of interest to many here. It's crew compliment consisted of over 800 men and had more firepower than Wellington had at the Battle of Waterloo. Enjoy.
