    Kibler Brown Bess?

I agree. I do think an accurate Bess would go over big. I would opt for pretty much any pattern, except an India pattern. I have built a few Besses from Rifle Shoppe kits. They generally have not been too difficult, but 1. It sucked waiting for all of the parts. 2. If Kibler put together a Bess...

    Kibler Brown Bess?

I would be down for one, but I would opt for a 1730 Pattern with its cool carving. It would cover the entire 18th century era. Maybe with a few changes. Reduce the barrel to 40", no let's go with 32" so that I could use it for my ranger impression. More drop to the stock would be great. 75...

Leonard Day price list from 1984

You are probably right. I have a Pennsylvania Bicentennial Rifle made by John Bivens in 1976. They cost $2000 when they were made. I bought this one $3500, a few years ago and it is #3 of the 200. With the inflation calculation that rifle would probably cost around $11,000.

Does anyone know of a source for a 54" or better range rod?

Leonard Day price list from 1984

That's pretty neat. The flintlock swivel breech rifle was $590, but with todays price it would be $1784.00. I just picked up one of his swivel breech pistols a while back.

Building a British Pattern 1800 Rifle (Baker)

Oh man, where was this thread when I built my Baker rifle? Great information. I stumbled through mine, and this information would have been great. I have an original 1800/1813 pattern and a Peter Dyson 1800 model to use for patterns, so that helped quite a bit. I had an original patchbox and...
