12 Ga Pedersoli shotgun and the Sky Chief Turkey load

AMEN! edit - And use a fine of powder/high pressure/high velocity as you dare! Use a minimum of fffg if not a full charge of ffffg. No sarcasm @Britsmoothy ! I mean it. Until these guys actually try to kill something, they DON'T know! I used ffffg Shuetzen at 110 grains with your method of...

No I have not tried ffg. It is worth a try though. I have both Shuetzen and Goex in ffg.

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

What would you like me to do with them? Throw them on the ground like a litterbug? A smart alec response gets one in return.

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

Done did that. It made the crud worse and groups were terrible.

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

Pure cotton that I purchase AND test from JoAnn's. No synthetics or blends go in my rifles. edit- burn test ALL patch material! Synthetics burn vastly differently from cotton or linen.

    Reusable caps

Yeah, don't do this! Same goes for those folks who mix ALL of a 22Reloader kit at once. Don't do it. Use some common sense. I use the 22Reloader kits myself. I only mix the amount prescribed and only crush up L2 when it's by itself, NEVER after it's mixed with the other 3 ingredients. EVER...

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

I get what you are saying. But nasty dirty patches mixed with clean patches does not set well with me.

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

I agree. I really do. I despise swabbing between shots! There is no problem running the prb down the bore with any lube and a .440" + .010" or .015", or .018" patches. Same for a .445" + .010, or a .012". A .445 and .015" patch is simply too tight to start and ram. A .440" + .018" is really...

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

Judging by temporary marks on range rod, the crud seems to form right at the top of the powder column and where the ball contacts the powder. Maybe a 1/4" in length. I'm not sure that lube, ANY lube can cure this. I know this seems trival, but this rifle has drove me bonkers until I realized...

    Apply wax in barrel channel?

Mr. Comfortably Numb (who is an accomplished builder!) is correct. However for MY piece of mind with pinned barrels, I coat the underside of the barrel and the barrel channel in the stock with wax. That way hopefully any moisture from cleaning or hunting is kept from harming the steel.

    Where to find #11 caps?

Quit buying and make your own. https://22lrreloader.com/ Use acetone diluted single base smokeless powder as your binder or acetone diluted Duco cement. Plenty of threads on here on how to make your own. I've said it dozens of times now, I'll say it again, I don't care how cheap caps get, I...

A rifle that needs swabbed after every shot on a woodswalk??

What to do with all the patches?? So my new .45 rifle needs swabbed after every shot to remove a nasty crud ring or seating pressure varies and fliers occur. Swab after every shot and it is accurate. Powder does not matter. Shuetzen fffg, Goex fffg, or Pyrodex P. Powder amount does not matter...
