    Lyman Great Plains Rifle

I believe that Lyman may have changed the company that builds the Great Plains rifle from Invest Arms to Pedersoli. Seems like I saw something to that effect a while back.

    Whoops!

You could get your friend to put it in his milling machine and use an end mill to drill the hole in the right place for your liner, it would probably clean up your pilot hole.

    1 - 48 Twist & Lee R.E.A.L bullets

I have a T/C Hawken with a Bill Large 45 caliber, 1 in 48 twist barrel. I would like to try a Lee R.E.A.L bullet in it. Which would work best, the 200 grain or the 250 grain? I would prefer the 250 grain if it would stabilize in the 48 twist. Thanks Rich

    .45 vs .50 vs .54

I believe that 54 is the best all around round ball caliber. It will do anything you want.

Authenticity of 24" barrel on Half stock

I have an original Tryon half stock rifle with a 24" barrel, it is a 35 caliber, I don't believe it has been shortened. One thing I have learned over the years for original muzzleloading guns is never to say "they never did that" cause someone will prove you wrong.

    SOLD Mountain Rifle

I too own one of these made by Traditions, I got it in new unfired condition, it is a very nice rifle, the finish is very good on mine. I haven't fired it yet, waiting for warmer weather and not so much snow on the ground. I have owned three of these made by A & H and this one by Traditions is...

    J. Flynn Rifle

I recently purchased a nice, well built flintlock rifle. It has J. Flynn stamped on the barrel, I assume that is the builder. Would anyone have any information on this builder? It has a Douglas 45 caliber barrel and I think a Dixie lock. It is a nice trim very well built rifle.

New Missouri Ban on Use of Lead Shot

What shot can one use in a muzzleloading shotgun that would be legal and not hard on the gun? I don't know very much about any shot but lead for use in a muzzleloader.

    Barrel Inletting. How tight ?

I am replacing a barrel on a Hawken type rifle. The new barrel is just a small amount larger than the old barrel across the flats. So I am having to scrape the inletting a little to fit it. How tight should the barrel fit? Do any of you eve use glass bedding to assure a perfect fit? Maybe just...

    Uberti Hawken

Does anyone have a Uberti Hawken or have experience with one? I think Uberti has quit making them. I was thinking of buying a nice used one and don't know much about them. Twist used, accuracy expected etc. Any comments would be welcome. Thanks Rich
