Historically I understand priming the pan first. And using the rest of the charge in the bore, but realistically it kinda makes me cringe. True, a good lock, well maintained shouldn’t slip, but my luck being what it is. Lol.

It looks amazing. So cool to watch it from start to finish, you make it look quick and easy. I assume this gun is commissioned, and has a home waiting for it, lucky dog. Can’t wait to see it shoot.

If the “dreaded” Hawken is close to the actual Hawken designs, then I would definitely be in. All the other ideas sound good to me too, pistols, Lehigh, sounds good to me.

That stock is going to have done definite character when your done, could look sweet. I’d give it some age, little bit of patina on the brass, darken the stock, and you’ll have a nice piece. At least you’ll be able to pick that gun out of a line up.

I have not tried any of it on wood so far, but will take pictures and post them here when I do. I’m going to clean up and sand some curly maple and test it out after I let the stuff brew for a week or two.
