I know I will open a can of worms but after I shoot I use bore butter patches until they come out clean. Pyrodex or Black. Most of my guns are over thirty years old and the bores still looking good. If they ever stop making bore butter I will have to try something else

    Chain fire!!

The nature of the beast comes to mind. Chain fire happens to all percussion revolvers at some point even if you do everything you can to do it right. It's written about in the early days of cap and ball revolvers and it was part of the reason that improvement was made. For the holier than...

    Old style deep rifling

Guy's I was just asking because I want to have a rifle as authentic as possible. There's a distinction between the old look and our modern look

    Old style deep rifling

Whenever I look through muzzleloader magazine I see the deep star-shaped rifling that was in the original muzzleloaders cuz you can see it on the muzzle and I always thought that was really neat so I would like to have one that looks like one of the old style I mean why not it worked for them...

They're probably doing the best they can with supply chain issues and personnel problems. Things will not be normal for a while yet so be patient and they'll get you what they can

    13/16 50cal barrels

Pedersoli Kentucky rifle has that Barrel. I have had it for 30 years and shoot 70 grains of 3f. No problems with barrel. The wood work is sub standard but it is a tack driver at 50 yards

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Today no shooting because of massive overtime at the factory but I am sure I brought a smile to the people of Track of the wolf because I ordered a whole bunch of supplies so the smoke poles keep belching smoke

    Kibler colonial kit

Are all Kibler kits able to be assembled by a Neophyte or does the Colonial kit at a higher skills level. I have many flintlock rifles but I only built one as a teenager.CVA Kentucky rifle was what I built. Is a colonial kit from Kibler monumentally harder to put together
