    I have two flintlock long guns at present. One is a pedersoli bess with no liner the other a 45 cal rifle with a Rice swamped barrel with a vent liner. What is the purpose of a vent liner.     Thanks SA I'm pretty sure this one is OK. Dave thinks the serial # cut off for the suspect oversize barrels is#1800 and this one is #38xx. I haven't shot it yet. Don't know if I will I've got a lot of irons in the fire.
