Finished up a trial throwing knife from plain mild steel. I wanted to make one to see if the balance, handle size and everything felt good. I'm happy with how it turned out and will probably eventually make one with a better quality steel. But for now, this will do.

Which do you prefer for deer hunting from a stand? I am in no way hunting period correct clothing. I'm leaning towards a straped bag so it's easy to put on and take off with my backpack but wanted other people's thoughts.

Spent the evening cutting 2 new screws to length and blueing them for my lock. Also made a couple bore guides for my range rod from 1/2" pex pipe unions. The center hole was a perfect fit for the range rod and woth I little sanding, the outside fits my .45 cal rifle perfectly.

How often should a lock be disassembled and cleaned? Currently, I only have time to shoot mine maybe once a month. After each shooting session I remove my lock and scrub it woth soapy water, then moose milk, then I will lube it with ballistol before reinstalling it. Since I don't know when my...

I ha e a diamond flat grinder disc that I used. I tried the dremmel but it was hard to get everything flat. The disc was much easier for my personally. But a file would accomplish the same thing for cheaper.

For those that cut at the muzzle, what do you do with your patch strips when shooting from the piuch and cutting at the muzzle?

I am from California, Kentucky and was wondering of there were any groups within a 30 to 45 min drive that get together to shoot? Friendship is a 90 min drive so that would be too much for say a monthly shoot for me with my schedule.

How deep were you able to make the recess in the stock for the patch box on the flintlock?

Has anyone installed a rectangular patch box on their rifle? I would like to install mine to for my cleaning jag, patch worm and what not but didn't know if there was enough thickness to the butt stock.
