I I haven't participated in any shoots before but like the idea of the woods walk because to me, paper targets are a little boring to shoot at so the woods walk seems like it would be fun to do.

What are the approximate distance ranges, as in 5 to 50 yards?

How many targets are there normally on the course for the spring and fall shoots? Trying to gauge how many targets I should be expecting as this will be my first year participating.

When you clamped it, how much did you compress the spring?

I actually just received a new one in the mail and at first I was having issues with decent spark and the frizzen not opening all the way. I just now removed the frizzen spring and tried the lock and now I get a good shower of sparks in the pan. So my question would be, would it be a good move...

Has anyone gotten the L and R replacement flintlock for their traditions rifle and regretted the purchase thinking you didn't get your money's worth? I'm getting frustrated with my factory lock trying to get decent sparks.

yes, I am holding it there. The flint hits the feizzen at half cock and if I flip the flint, the top jaw hits the frizzend and the flint completely misses.

The top jaw will hit the frizzen and the flint completely misses if the flint is the other way. Its a jukar lock and sparks pretty decently but it's not the best in that aspect. Though I am happy with it for what I have invested in the rifle.

Does this look like my flint is striking my frizzen at a good angle? Or is it more of depends on the particular lock?

What exactly are they? I have read a few different posts in my searches about flints and people refer to these but what exactly are they? I assume it is referring to the overall shape where it humps up at the back of the flint where the jaws grab it?

Got my parts in for my Jukar lock. I changed the tumbler to one that will accept a fly and bridle and fit the bridle in place. All that is needed is to drill and tap one screw hole and it will be completed. I decided to save a few bucks and not buy the fly since I only have a single trigger. I...

Thanks. This is my first flintlock. I've had it for a few years and only shot it a hand full of times vefore but in the past year, the blackpowder bug has taken hold so I'm wanting to shoot more. And I love to tinker on stuff so this is a more enjoyable task than just buying a replacement lock.

Shooting it out was ny first thiught. If you do shoot it out, make sure it's all the way down so it's not a barrel obstruction.

How difficult, if possible, would it be to add a bridle to this lock? It's a CVA lock if that helps? I know a bridle was made for CVA locks but didn't know if it fit only certain models.
