Local Black Powder?... Goex or Swiss

Depends on how much you are buying as far as price. If buying in quantity, I've found Buffalo Arms to be the best price. I fyou only want a few pounds probably best to find it local. Occasionally Grafs will have decent online pricing also.

My comment was a joke, or was supposed to be anyhow. If my post is what is being referred to.

    WANTED Eel skin

One of my favorite day floats is from Callicoon to Skinners Falls. It is a beautiful river. Just went to supper last night in Barrysville at the restaurant At Rivers Edge. Some pretty neat history also at the river during the American Revolution at the battle of Minisink.

    Sharp Shooter Rimfire Reloader

Only ordered 1 time, didn't hear anything and it took a while but it did show up. Forget how long the delay was but it was long enough I was beginning to wonder. Was pleased with the product.

    WANTED Eel skin

I do a lot of canoeing and fishing on the Delaware River between PA and NY. On the Upper Delaware there are a lot of eel weirs. They are made for trapping eels. I searched and found an article about a guy that traps them and sells them. It mentions he may be retiring but perhaps it will give you...

    Rattlesnake patchbox rifles

Crisco Kid, sounds like a cool project. Direct him here to the referenced guns for some more info. Also found another to add. William Weiss gun in Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle by Joe Kindig pages 128-129. If you got any pics of his work add them here, would be neat to see.

    Failure :’(

Well you could cut off a chunk of the barrel!! Seriously it don't look bad to me. But I get things like that can be irritating. Got any brass stock that you could solder onto the flat to extend it?

    Failure :’(

How about adding a brass tip to the other end to extend it where you want it? Don't look bad as is to me though.

Frustrated - Hopefully just the growing pains of a newbie

If you got a mounted bench vise, clamp the rod in the vise and pull on the gun, she should come out.

    Rattlesnake patchbox rifles

Just found another one. KRF #21 disc The Longrifle in Virginia #49 on the disc. Looks almost identical to the Virginia Manufactory rifle except this one is a brass box. The rifle itself is quite different though. Attributed to Philip Grandstaff.

    Rattlesnake patchbox rifles

That's pretty cool. That's the reason for my original question, I was planning a next project. Remembered seeing that patchbox somewhere and figured it might make for a cool project. Is that all Rifle Shoppe hardware then?

    First handmade nose cap

It looks good to me, although I've never made one by any method. Rifle is looking good too. What thickness brass did you use to swage the buttplate from?

    Rattlesnake patchbox rifles

Do you know of any books that the original was published in? I just checked my Cromwell Collection book and nothing in there. All wooden patch boxes or muskets with no box.
