Trip to California and black powder shops

I've been looking online for shops in the California area from LA north to San Luis Obispo. Does anyone know of any shops that have muzzleloaders and/or cap n ball pistols/revolvers. Thanks.

Who among us are PIPE smokers?

I smoked a pipe for 20 years and relocated every 3 - 4 years for work. I felt like an archeologist in every town trying to dig up tobacco. But the overriding factor in choosing was my wife's approval of the aroma. I quite after getting strep throat for 2 weeks. She's happy!!!! The tobacco...

Anyone have hearing aid feed back using hearing protection muffs??

I take mine out (both ears, behind the ear). I use Walker and adjust the volume so I can hear my wife and the RSO. The Walkers have the silence factor built in when there is a sudden noise like a gunshot.

Help me. I'm moving to Florida. My poor barrels!

I live near Mike in Florida east coast near daytona beach. We keep the house at average of 74.5 degrees and with air conditioning and good sealed windows, we've hovered around 50 percent humidity in all weather in all seasons. I check every 3 - 6 months and revolvers, long arms do very well...

WITHDRAWN Kibler woodsrunner extra fancy and fully carved

Beautiful. Love the color and design. Question: how come in all the kit long guns, the ramrod looks like a normal piece of wood, maybe stained, but no where close to the beauty of the long gun. Just curious.

Spiller & Burr cleaning and reassemble

Today, I took the revolver and disassembled it for the 3rd time thinking 3rd times a charm. Laid everything out, slowly, methodically. Then I tripled check the fit of the hand/spring, put the hammer in place for the hand, screwed the hand into hammer with spring facing hammer. Slowly placed...

Spiller & Burr cleaning and reassemble

I got it together. I put the trigger in before the bolt. I should just stick to my Colts. Now that it's together, the timing is way off. I'll check on the forum about that or go to a gunsmith. thanks for your help.

Spiller & Burr cleaning and reassemble

I took it apart using a Blackie Thomas youtube video, but he doesn't do it in reverse. It may be the spring on the hand that's not right??? or trigger interaction with other parts???? Or it could be that I am discombobulated cause the cruise line just said I was too old to go on an ATV...

Spiller & Burr cleaning and reassemble

I am cleaning a Spiller & Burr revolver. Took it apart down to frame and cleaned everything. Now I need to put it together. Oops. Hammer does not hold at half cock and cylinder turns too far so nipple is not aligned with hammer. Can someone direct me to a video on putting back together a...

    Black powder on smokeless ranges

I am aware of people who mention (not 'complain) about the smoke and smell of my (and wife's) BP shooting. But then my wife mentions how her insides are continuously hit by the wave of pressure released when the other people shoot their unmentionables. And I add that we have to duck the shells...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Went to range with wife and Spiller, Spencer, and Snub nose. Started with Spiller & Burr: ended up at 10 yards, aiming 6 inches low of center. After two 6-shot rounds, I asked my wife to shoot. She had 3 shots just above center in a 3 shot row. She looked at me and said: "it's not the...
