    Getting the Walker tuned up

I'm just curious. Is this what the new recruit to the Texas Rangers talked about when issued his new Walker? Did they get rid of their Walkers when the Dragoons came out? Did the Texas Rangers have a person whose job was to modify each Walker for each recruit to meet the above discussed...

    A List of Beginner's Tools

We've dumbed down the ability to get on the web and get to where we want. How many people turn on their 'internet machine', look for the icon they want, click on it, and 'lo and behold', they are where they want to be. They have no idea how the connection is made, where the connection sends...

No, you can't ship black powder pistols or handguns via the USPS.

how was it sent? priority or regular mail? that might make a difference. priority is tracked all the way.

What everyone is apparently forgetting is the following: BLACK POWDER FIREARMS MUST BE SEPARATED BY DATES/PERIODS. When people talk about black powder weapons and make rules, they may be talking about modern day rifles and pistols. Thats why there is 431.3. At least in my opinion. When...

There is still the confusion of 431.3 "antiques (pre 1898) and replicas of antiques". How does that figure into the equation?

    Anyone help on scotch bright

I use the maroon to defarb and smooth out the bore. There was a youtube demo by duelist54. Because he had to swab the bore after 2 shots he used the scotch brite about 100 times from top to bottom of bore. After this procedure, he was able to shoot about 10-12 times before running a clean...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

It was time today: time to check the longarms. Took all of them down to the kitchen table since it was a heat index of 114 outside. Checked all with bore scope and most made it through the past 6 months very well. We keep house at 75 and never let the outside in. Used WD40, then bore brush...

IMO: I think each of the three sections need to be considered separately. IMO: BP revolvers cannot be 'concealed' in the current accepted definition of 'concealed carry' (I don't think you can conceal a LeMat or a 1st dragoon; your pants would fall down). I say this because if you consider...

    Shipping Percussion Revolver?

People would be very surprised to learn where you can't carry. The one I like is "you can carry in a restaurant but if that restaurant has a bar, you cannot go in the bar.' That's against the law. (at least in Florida)

    Shipping Percussion Revolver?

T If it is lost then the last item 431.3 says it's ok if it's a muzzleloader made before 1898 or REPLICA and it hasn't been changed to fire cartridges. Put in a claim for a muzzleloader under 431.1. Knock wood: I've shipped 4 muzzleloader revolvers without a problem using USPS online label...

    Shipping Percussion Revolver?

431.3 is what I understand is muzzleloading. I recently sent two BP revolvers using priority mail. I logged into the USPS site, went to mailing and selected regulary priority mail (other type of priority mail requires USPS box), printed label, taped it to box (normal looking box) and dropped...

The last email reply I got from Pietta said they may be starting up production late August or September. this was a few months ago.

Did notknow where to go with this and hope this Forum is Appropriate

IMHO: A great looking muzzleloader will overpower most background snafus. Concentrate on glare from ML and make sure all details of carving, etching, etc. show. Keep background as plain as you can, in keeping with the situation. I guess I am a minimalist.

SOLD Three (3) pietta cylinders and pouches

I have two triple K belt cylinder holders and three .36 cylinders that fit the pietta 51 and 60 colt revolver. They may fit others but they're the only two .36 piettas I have. One cylinder has a naval scene and two are plain. At least 15 rounds have been shot through them and the nipples have...
